Adding a quiz to a course

If you check the Scoring checkbox, enter the percentage required to pass the quiz. It’s important to make the distinction that this value is a percentage, and is not the number of correct answers.

The following additional settings display when the Scoring checkbox is selected.

Option Behavior
Question Attempts This option determines how question feedback displays to learners based on your selection. When you select One, the learner sees feedback for correct or incorrect answers. When you select Unlimited or Two, the learner sees feedback that prompts him or her to try to answer the question again. The default selection is Unlimited.

Going live with your quiz

When you are confident your quiz is ready, you can go live by changing the Live/Development setting to Live mode.

A word of caution: Going Live will limit your ability to make future edits. If you find you need to make edits to a question’s text or images you still can, but you won’t be able to change answers or the order of your questions. The limited ability to edit is intended for instances when you need to make a grammatical correction, or something of that nature.

You can revert the Live/Development setting back to Development mode. If records exist for that quiz, the following warning message appears: “While you can revert back to development mode, please note that this should only be used as an option of last resort. In order to allow you to make substantial structural changes to the quiz while in development mode, all existing student records for this quiz will have to be deleted to keep them from becoming invalid. You can still change the text of pages and question answers in this quiz without reverting back to development mode. Click Proceed if you wish to delete all existing student records and revert this quiz back to development mode.”

Perform the following steps to go live with your quiz:

  1. Click the Courses tab.
  2. Click the Edit icon in the Actions column to select a course.
  3. From the Content area, click the Edit this content action icon for the quiz.
