Add and arrange course content
You can add any type of digital media as content to your courses; including, SCORM modules, documents, images, videos, audio files, links and assessments. Additionally, you can arrange content, indicate whether it is an attachment, and lock the order in which a learner experiences the content.
To add content, perform the following steps:
- Click the Courses tab.
- Click the Action icon for a course.
Note: This Course Details page automatically displays after creating a new course.
- From the Add Content area, select a content type.
- Click Browse.
- Locate the source file on your computer.
- Select the file.
- Click Open from the Select file to upload dialog box. A success message displays.
- Click the View Details link if you would like to see a preview of the uploaded content.
- Enter a title for the content.
- Enter a brief description of the content.
- Click the button to add the content.
- Repeat the steps to upload content as many times as necessary.
Adding a URL/Link content type
Adding a URL/Link content type is similar to adding any other course content. The difference is that you don’t need to browse to locate the file on your computer; instead, you’ll enter the URL, a title and description.
Once a user launches this piece of content, it is considered complete. Consequently, you don’t want to use URLs for SCORM modules if you want to track the results in Percolate. Instead, you should import the SCORM module so you can store interaction details.
Arranging course content
After a course contains content, you can simply drag and drop each item to arrange the content’s display order. For mobile devices that do not support drag and drop, click the action icons to move content up or down one. Click Update the content button after arranging the course content.
If you have content not required for completion, check the Attachment checkbox to indicate the content is an attachment. Don’t forget to click the Update the content button.
Locking content order
Setting the order of content gives you the power to determine the way in which a learner experiences the content. Once your courses are in the desired order, click the Lock content in the order displayed above checkbox. Then, click Update the content button to update the content. Now, people have to complete the first piece of content before they can start the second piece of content.
